Apple Conducts Heart Health Series At Its Stores
With its first event based on health, Apple has shown its increasing interest in the health sector. An event was hosted by Apple on last Monday, at Union Square outlet in San Francisco where Apple team talked on health niche and has planned two more such events in the Chicago and New York. By looking at the past history of this tech giant, Apple has not hosted any such health based event at its outlets before. The main theme of this event was ‘Heart Month’, where spokespersons talked about heart health. Also, the heart is the most focused part when it comes to Apple’s heath band, watch and other gadgets. This event also showcased the Apple watch and its features like use of an optical sensor for measuring user heart-rate and an inbuilt electrocardiogram to monitor the user’s heartbeat rhythm which is yet to be released.
These events and the company’s seriousness have ensured that it is all set to focus on fitness vertical in upcoming days. Apple’s executive has told earlier that his company has plans to invest in the health sector and will also increase team count for working in health vertical and also claimed that this domain and its products will be the greatest contribution to mankind from Apple while talking to CNBC’s Jim Cramer. The events were much hosted and were started with the speech by Apple health’s Sumbul Desai followed with Jeanette Jenkins (Celebrity Fitness Trainer) and Robert Harington (American’s Heart Association president-elect). The event was moderated by Julz Arny who works on the social project for Apple Fitness.
The highlight of this event includes, Sumbul Desai (Vice President of Apple) talking about how she got interested in Apple and its Fitness vertical, she also added that the upcoming Apple watch will detect the Atrial Fibrillation (cardio-rhythmic problem) while speaking along with Harington. Their speech showed hoe determined the company is and its vigor’s efforts in the vast study on heart issues. With the latest tweets by Apple CEO Jim Cook and Christina Farr and encouraged speech by its executives, Apple is ready to do more in Fitness and health sector.
