West Would

Ren Zhengfei—Huawei’s Founder—recently went to China’s state broadcaster to guard the telecom gear provider’s track record in his first television interview, a step initiated due to western administration’s ban on its 5G equipment for security concerns. Ren said Huawei’s 5G and wireless solutions are top class and will fix problems many Western nations face in the development of 5G, especially in lightly populated rural areas. “They are stupid and would lose money if they do not buy our products,” Ren said on asking his views on the bans some countries have enforced on Huawei equipment.

Ren further added, “We offer many things that the American and European countries require and they would have to obtain from us.” Ren stated that he was confident regarding Huawei’s competitive site in 5G and wireless development compared to its global associates. Ren—who rarely speaks to the media since establishing Huawei in 1987—has initiated on a public-relations campaign to reconstruct the company’s impression, speaking with minimum three teams of reporters in Shenzhen in the past week, counting a group interview with picked international media and domestic media. Earlier in this month, Norway’s justice minister stated the country was thinking to join other western countries in eliminating Huawei from forming part of the Nordic nation’s novel 5G infrastructure.

Recently, Huawei was also in news as the U.S. is set to formally look for the banishment of Huawei’s CFO. In a certain step to ratchet up disputes with China, the U.S. will continue with the official extradition from Canada of Meng Wanzhou—Huawei’s Executive—Canada’s ambassador told to the U.S., as per to The Globe and Mail. David MacNaughton—Canadian Diplomat—said that the U.S. has conveyed Canada it would request Meng’s banishment, but it is not fixed when the request would be made.
